ABOUT US
History
Founded in 2008, Al‑Hidaya Islamic Center has emerged as a cornerstone of the Muslim community in Philadelphia. What began as a small prayer group has grown into a welcoming hub for worship, learning, and fellowship. The community persevered through challenges, expanding its space and services to meet the spiritual and social needs of its members. Today, Al‑Hidaya stands strong with a vision of continued growth and inclusive outreach.
Who We Are
Al-Hidaya Islamic Center is a welcoming place for Muslims in Philadelphia to gather, worship, and grow in faith. We are committed to helping our community stay connected to Islam, build strong values, and live with purpose. Our center is open to everyone—young or old, born Muslim or new to the faith.
We offer daily and Friday prayers, Islamic classes, youth programs, and community events. Our school provides young students with the knowledge and values they need to live as good Muslims and good citizens. We also host educational lectures, family nights, and volunteer opportunities for all ages.
Mission & Vision
Our Mission: Our mission is to serve the spiritual, educational, and social needs of the Muslim community in Philadelphia. We aim to teach the teachings of Islam with kindness and clarity, and help people live their faith in their daily lives. We also operate a weekend school to help children learn the Qur’an, Islamic studies, and Arabic in a positive and caring environment.
Our Vision: We want to build a stronger, united Muslim community where people support each other and grow together. Our vision is to create a place where everyone—families, youth, and elders—can come to learn, pray, and find peace. We also hope to be a center that inspires our children to carry the light of Islam into the future.
